“Not Myself” Music Video

Lovespirals’ new single, “Not Myself,” is a nostalgic nod to the band’s early millennium chillout sound with gently soulful vocals and a classic laid-back bluesy guitar solo adding layers of emotion and depth, making “Not Myself” a reflective and soothing experience for fans of introspective electronica. In contrast to the darker and more despairing vibe of “Noumenon,” the duo’s new release invites quiet meditation. The music video, filmed and edited by band lyricist, vocalist, and co-producer, Anji “Bee” Lum, plays right into the song’s vibes with its chill California coastline imagery.

While Lovespirals’ new song “Noumenon” has been available on streaming services since June 14, it hasn’t yet hit Bandcamp. That’s because we have a little surprise up our sleeves! Pre-order the ‘Noumenon (Single)’ and you’ll get the original mix now (with streaming via the free Bandcamp app plus a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC or your choice of file format), and then two additional mixes on release day, July 12th.

Regarding “Noumenon (Drum n Bass Mix)”:

The duo take another look at the song with a complete overhaul of the beats, taking the song from a minimal trap vibe to a mid-tempo drum n bass and house sound with a hypnotic vocal sample and additional synths driving the downbeat tune into some pretty catchy territory.

Regarding “Noumenon (Guitar Focus Instrumental”:

For this instrumental mix of “Noumenon,” Ryan built up the ambiance on his guitar a wee bit and added in the retro string pads from the ‘Drum n Bass’ mix in the choruses to help fill out the sound. A few vocal samples remain to keep the melancholic vibes in tact. Now you can zone out on the music or belt out Anji’s lyrics on your own!

Noumenon

Love is just a noumenon
Noumeon

Every day I wake up tired
Only do what is required
My emotions have been mired
So completely uninspired

Love is just a noumenon
(Love is just a noumenon)

And I know its all my fault
Hits my heart like an assault
Feelings locked inside a vault
Waiting for the pain to halt

Find a way to carry on
Trying my best to be strong
There’s nowhere that I belong
Love is just a noumenon

Love is just a noumenon
(Love is just a noumenon)
Noumenon
Love is just a noumenon
(Love is just a noumenon)
Noumenon

Noumenon
Noumenon
Love is just a noumenon

And I know its all my fault
Hits my heart like an assault
Feelings locked inside a vault
Waiting for the pain to halt

Find a way to carry on
Trying my best to be strong
There’s nowhere that I belong
Love is just a noumenon

Love is just a noumenon
(Love is just a noumenon)
Noumenon
Love is just a noumenon
(Love is just a noumenon)

Love is just a noumenon
Noumenon

“This Truth (soulwhirlingsomewhere Remix)” Out Now

It’s the 15th anniversary of the soulwhirlingsomewhere remix of our song “This Truth” and it’s just now available on Spotify and Apple Music. Somehow our 2008 release ‘This Truth EP‘ featuring various artists remixing the ‘Long Way From Home‘ single disappeared from digital services, along with the dance chart topping Damien S. VS Lovespirals ‘This Truth‘ remix single released by the now-defunct Loverush Digital label. It’s a mystery! Until such time as we dig up the master tracks for a full digital reissue, we can at least enjoy this splendid mix by our friend Michael Plaster.
