“Down Low” Official Music Video

Ryan and I just posted the official music video for “Down Low” from our 3-song ‘Smile – Single’ to YouTube. This midnight vibes video highlights our own downtown Long Beach for a moody change of pace. This is the first time Lovespirals have created a music video for every song on a release, and we’re pretty excited about it.

‘Smile – Single’ & Music VIdeo Out Now

Lovespirals 3-song single, ‘Smile,’ is out NOW on all digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Mp3, Tidal, YouTube, Deezer and Bandcamp. In addition to the brand new title track, ‘Smile’ features our song “Why Not Today,” which was previously only available on Bandcamp. All three songs continue the band’s tradition of working new influences into their signature dream pop sound. This time it’s the jazzier side of K-Indie that’s inspiring the chill So Cal duo. The Vegan Optimist Interviews Anji & Ryan

Anji and Ryan were recently interviewed by Ryan Tratner for his podcast, The Vegan Optimist.

“The Vegan Optimist is a podcast spreading positivity and optimism about the future of veganism. It is a place of learning focused on positive developments in all things vegan!”

It’s a pretty fun half hour conversation that goes into how we met, how/why we became vegan, and what lead to the creation of our YouTube channel, as well as our thoughts on veganism and vegan activism, how to go vegan, the lie of “humane” meat, plus a lightning round of couple questions. What stupid thing did we recently get into a fight over? Find out!

“Spinning Circles” Official Music Video

An official music video for the song “Spinning Circles” from our ‘Life Goes On’ album is out now on the Lovespirals YouTube channel.

Over the past 2-3 years I’ve been filming various scenes I thought would work well with the lyrical concept and I finally took the time to put together a fun music video that contrasts black and white and vivid colorful scenes. The parasol scenes were shot on Laguna Beach during the performance of ‘The Shoreline Project’ by artist Elizabeth Turk. We had randomly been on site just as 1000 people converged for this performance piece, and it was quite surreal! The carousel and teacups ride scenes were both shot at Disneyland, and the stupa scene was shot at Maui Dharma Center in Paia.

To celebrate the start of a new year, Anji put together a music video for the title track of the latest Lovespirals album, “Life Goes On,” featuring some of the peaceful moments filmed over the past 12 tumultuous months. Here’s hoping this new year is better than the last!

Echoes Radio Loves “Aspen Glow”

John Diliberto is once again sharing our cover of John Denver’s “Aspen Glow” from the Projekt Excelsis ~ A Prelude CD on his nationally syndicated radio show, Echoes. We were delighted to learn he’d played it twice last holiday season, and now learned it’s back in rotation this year, as well! Our 2001 recording appeared on the Echoes Winter Solstice Soundscape playlists for December 21st and 26th.

Lovespirals Guest on Sam Rosenthal Album for Tim Leary’s Birthday

Projekt Records founder, Sam Rosenthal of Black Tape for a Blue Girl, just released a new album to commemorate what would have been Timothy Leary’s 100th birthday this month. Entitled Tim, where are you now?, this collaborative album features many special guests, including Lovespirals, Steve Roach, Erik Wøllo, Mike VanPortfleet of Lycia, Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls, Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, Reggie Watts, and more. Ryan and Anji contributed to “Starseed,” alongside Forrest Fang and Rosenthal, as well as “PSY PHI love means High Fidelity” alongside Byron Metcalf, Martin Bowes, and Rosenthal. These songs highlight musical sides of Lovespirals you may not have seen before. The CD is currently in preorder on Bandcamp, where you can alternatively purchase a digital download on the “Name Your Price” deal (meaning you can pay $0 if you want…), and it’s also available to stream on all digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.

The download of our single ALSO includes this brand new music video, shot at gorgeous Crystal Cove beach here in Southern California. With extremely chill vibes and super smooth production, “Why Not Today?” pulls from our r&b/soul side with a little jazz and blues twist. Melancholic, dreamy, and filled with soft yearning for a better time and place, the accompanying video is a lovely reminder of the healing power of nature, even in this time of human disconnection and unease. Echoes Radio Supports ‘Life Goes On’


We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the nationally syndicated radio show Echoes has been supporting several tracks from the Lovespirals album, Life Goes On. Show host John Diliberto featured “Dark Night of the Soul” on November 12th and 20th, 2019, and again on May 24th, 2020; “Brother Against Brother” on November 14th, 2019, and January 14th and 19th, 2020; and “Foolish Heart” on December 4th and 19th, 2019, and again on January 3rd, May 10th, and May 17th, 2020. Wow!
