Out now on YouTube is the official music video for the new single by Lovespirals, “The Call.” This dreamy video was filmed entirely in and around the band’s hometown of Long Beach, CA, shot and edited by Anji with some post production by Ryan. So many great spots to see sunsets from!

“The Call” Single Out Now
After the deceptively light musical offerings of the 3-song ‘Smile – Single’ Lovespirals return with a darker hued single. “The Call” shares some of the retro-90’s shoe gazer/dream pop vibes of their 2018 album, ‘Life Goes On,’ highlighting the lush guitar work bandleader, Ryan Lum, has long been known for. His soaring solo could easily have been plucked from his 1994 Love Spirals Downwards album, ‘Ardor.’ Hypnotic bass and upbeat drums drive this melancholic song with an unexpected groove, while Anji Bee’s signature blend of earthy low voice and soaring ethereal harmonies lift your soul.
Answer the call… it’s a sweet surprise.
Released July 1, 2022 on all digital platforms including Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Mp3, Tidal, Pandora and Apple Music.
The Call
Your timing is no good
I’m not free today
But if I could you know I would
Go outside to play
You’re calling out to me
I see it in your eyes
Full of curiosity
Such a sweet surprise
But I’m chasing you away
Well what else can I do
‘Cause if you stay another day
I might fall in love with you
You’re calling out to me
I see it in your eyes
Full of curiosity
Such a sweet surprise
So I’m chasing you away
What else can I do
‘Cause if you stay another day
I might fall in love with you
I can’t answer your call
Can’t afford to take the fall

Down Low – Lyrics
Drop me a line
Send me a sign
A little something
Let me know that you’re alive
But keep it on the down low
(Down low)
I said keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Just keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Gotta keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Write me a text
Baby I’m vexed
I don’t know what’s going on now
But what can I expect said we’d
Keep it on the down low
(Down low)
We said keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Just keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Gotta keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Keep it on the down low
(Down low)
I said keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Just keep it on the down low
(Down low)
Gotta keep it on the down low
(Down low)
On the down low

Why Not Today – Lyrics
When does the happiness begin
When does the love come flooding in
When does the pain fade away
Will it be tomorrow
Why not today
Why not today
When will my grey skies turn to blue
When will I take on a different hue
When will the sun come out to play again
Will it be tomorrow
Why not today
Why not today
I’ve waited patiently (patiently)
But I have yet to see (yet to see)
Joy wing its way to me
So I’m left wondering
When does the pain fade away
Will it be tomorrow
Why not today
Why not today

Smile – Lyrics
I been having a hard time lately
If I’m honest it’s been quite awhile
But I keep it mostly to myself, yeah
I just nod and smile
My smile may be pretty but it’s
All filled with lies
And you if look closely, see it
Doesn’t reach my eyes
Ha ahh ahh oh ooh smile
Hoo ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh smile
I been really going thru it lately
I wasn’t honest, I was in denial
Should’ve asked for help but instead
I just nod and smile
My smile may be pretty but it’s
All filled with lies
And you if look closely, see it
Doesn’t reach my eyes
Smile
Smile
Smile
Smile
Ha ahh ahh oh ooh smile
Hoo ooh ooh hoo ooh ooh ooh

Lovespirals 3-song single, ‘Smile,’ is out NOW on all digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Mp3, Tidal, YouTube, Deezer and Bandcamp. In addition to the brand new title track, ‘Smile’ features our song “Why Not Today,” which was previously only available on Bandcamp. The Vegan Optimist Interviews Anji & Ryan
Anji and Ryan were recently interviewed by Ryan Tratner for his podcast, The Vegan Optimist.
“The Vegan Optimist is a podcast spreading positivity and optimism about the future of veganism. It is a place of learning focused on positive developments in all things vegan!”
It’s a pretty fun half hour conversation that goes into how we met, how/why we became vegan, and what lead to the creation of our YouTube channel, as well as our thoughts on veganism and vegan activism, how to go vegan, the lie of “humane” meat, plus a lightning round of couple questions. What stupid thing did we recently get into a fight over? Find out!

“Spinning Circles” Official Music Video
An official music video for the song “Spinning Circles” from our ‘Life Goes On’ album is out now on the Lovespirals YouTube channel.
Over the past 2-3 years I’ve been filming various scenes I thought would work well with the lyrical concept and I finally took the time to put together a fun music video that contrasts black and white and vivid colorful scenes. The parasol scenes were shot on Laguna Beach during the performance of ‘The Shoreline Project’ by artist Elizabeth Turk. We had randomly been on site just as 1000 people converged for this performance piece, and it was quite surreal! The carousel and teacups ride scenes were both shot at Disneyland, and the stupa scene was shot at Maui Dharma Center in Paia.
Hope this video makes you smile!

Echoes Radio Loves “Aspen Glow”
John Diliberto is once again sharing our cover of John Denver’s “Aspen Glow” from the Projekt Excelsis ~ A Prelude CD on his nationally syndicated radio show, Echoes. We were delighted to learn he’d played it twice last holiday season, and now learned it’s back in rotation this year, as well! Our 2001 recording appeared on the Echoes Winter Solstice Soundscape playlists for December 21st and 26th.
You can grab yourself a copy of this vintage Lovespirals holiday nugget for FREE from the Lovespirals Bandcamp page.
