Lovespirals Own Podsafe Downtempo Chart

Pleased to note that Lovespirals are still doing quite well on the Podsafe Music Network Downtempo chart. At present, the band own the top 3 spots, plus the number 8 spot. Long time fan favorite, “Love Survives,” from the 2005 album, Free & Easy, is the top podcaster pick, followed by the ever-popular Bitstream Dream remix of “Walk Away” (we really do need to release that Walk Away EP one day…),  plus both original mixes of Long Way From Home singles, “Motherless Child” and “This Truth” from 2007.  Quite surprised its the not the remixes of those singles,  honestly! Band vocalist, Anji Bee, currently holds the #7 position in Downtempo and  #2 on the Trip Hop chart, both for collaborations with the now-defunct Canadian-based project, Bitstream Dream.

On a side note, gotta give some love to Macedonia of Radio BSOTS for his kind comment:

Somewhere in the podosphere, someone is keeping an all-time Podsafe Music chart topper list. I would like to think that Lovespirals is somewhere within the Top 30, if not the Top Ten. Personal faves include “Love Survives” and “Walk Away (Bitstream Dream Remix)”.

"This Truth (Live)" #1 on Podsafe Music Network Chart

Podsafe Music NetworkLovespirals’ live acoustic version of “This Truth” from their recent Second Life concert ranks as the #1 most played song of the month on the Podsafe Music Network Acoustic Top 10. Historically, Lovespirals have ruled the PMN Downtempo Top 10, where “Love Survives” from Lovespirals’ 2005 CD, Free and Easy, still holds the #1 position for most played song of all-time, followed by “Walk Away (Bitstream Dream Remix)” in the #2 position, and “Ecstatic (Podsafe Edit)” the #7 spot. Anji Bee’s 2004 collaboration with Bitstream Dream, “Phantasma,” holds the #3 position. Podcasters can find these and other podsafe Lovespirals songs at lovespirals.com/podsafe and lovespirals.com/podsaferemix. Please be sure to report your podcast plays to the Podsafe Music Network to help Lovespirals rise in the charts!

Chillin' with Lovespirals: Live in Second Life

In this special episode, we present our Second Life acoustic performance from Oct. 27th. This was recorded directly from the mixer so there’s no ambient sounds like the water — or the laughing fish that resides near the stage we played. If you have no idea what I’m taking about, check out the video capture of “Walk Away” on YouTube. This is the first live set in support of Long Way From Home, and the first Lovespirals Second Life performance. By the way, the folks from PodShow Island said we had 760 listeners on their audio streams in addition to the full house watching in-game, pretty crazy! We hope you enjoy this stripped down set.

UPDATE: In addition to the live listeners, this episode has now had over 15,000 downloads/streams!

Setlist :

  1. “Our Nights” from Windblown Kiss (2002)
  2. “Walk Away” from Free & Easy (2005)
  3. “Treading the Water” from Long Way From Home (2007)
  4. “Empty Universe” from Long Way From Home (2007)
  5. “Abide” from Free & Easy (2005)
  6. “Lazy Love Days” from Long Way From Home (2007)
  7. “Caught in the Groove” from Long Way From Home (2007)
  8. “Once in a Blue Moon” from Long Way From Home (2007)
  9. “This Truth” from Long Way From Home (2007)
  10. “Motherless Child” from Long Way From Home (2007)

Anji on Comic Strip Blog

Daily Source Code followers will likely be familiar with the infamous Comic Strip Blogger, who comments religiously on Adam Curry’s blog. I recently mentioned him in some audio feedback to Adam, and now CSB (as Adam calls him) has mentioned me in his comic strip! Now, that is usually NOT a good thing, but I was somehow spared his wrath and appear in a fairly positive light. Of course, I should remind him that Ryan was the one to the sell the 50,000 CDs, not me…
